How was La Jagua born?
Knowing what to give is not an easy task.
I wanted to brighten Antonia's day, bring her hope in the midst of the pain of going through the third anniversary of the death of her mother, Eliana.
He thought of a thousand ideas, but the day came and he didn't know what to give or what to say. He had already considered giving her flowers, but he wondered, is it cliché? Which ones are appropriate for the occasion? Which ones can I buy without messing up my life? The stores and options he found overwhelmed him instead of helping him.
Finally decided on a bouquet
and a letter that ended with the phrase, “Thank you for always being there for me without conditions. You deserve the world, but I'm sending you these flowers in the meantime.”
That experience led Juan to ask himself, how can I help others give gifts with ease? With the peace of mind that every detail has been designed to delight the person who receives it.
That was the birth of La Jagua.
For more than a year
Juan, Antonia, Leonardo and Laura gave their minds and hearts to come up with the best shopping experience and the best gift possible.
The four have channeled the essence of the star product to create a flower box of the best quality, with ecological awareness and that always adheres to its values: simplicity, generosity, humanity and innovation.
One of the main goals of La Jagua is to become a sustainable organization on an ecological and social level. Every day we look for new materials, systems and alliances that allow us to take actions that lead to their fulfillment.
Ecological awareness
We have developed boxes, packaging paper and gift cards from recycled material. We choose corn bags, 100% biodegradable, to protect our flowers during shipping.
We minimize floral waste from our allied crop by using our customers' purchase data and taking advantage of seasonal flowers to cut only what is necessary.
Social commitment
We reinforce our values of generosity and humanity by creating a corporate culture of respect, closeness and incentives that are truly valuable for our team. We also believe in the power of supporting local and that is why we work mainly with Colombian suppliers.
We like the idea of “recovering” what is ours, that is why we sell export flowers nationwide. 95% of the product is exported, we want to help reduce that number. We believe that Colombians deserve to enjoy what our land produces.
The 1% club
Generosity as a value is meaningless if it is not translated into action, which is why La Jagua donates 1% of all its sales to this organization.
